Why is it important for a pregnant woman to get a dental check-up?

Hormonal changes occur in your body during pregnancy. These hormonal changes can place you at an increased risk of developing gingivitis and other types of gum disease. Regular visits to the dentist can make sure your teeth and gums remain healthy while you are pregnant.

Should you develop gum disease or gingivitis while pregnant, it is important that you get it treated. If left untreated, these problems can drastically affect your health and can even affect your developing baby.
Some things you can do include:

Watch for any tenderness in the gums or bleeding. Schedule an appointment immediately with your dentist if these develop.
Brush your teeth at least three times a day
Floss once a day
Keep your regular appointments with your dentist
Schedule regular cleanings throughout your pregnancy
Reduce sugar intake and avoid acidic foods/drinks

All you need to do is make an appointment for a detailed examination at a hospital with advanced dental equipments, which must have good dental autoclave and dental suction unit, etc.
